The feeling of being high up is always Exhilarating , a sweet mixture of fear and excitement with the adrenalin rushing inside . How would it feel to be high up .. but this time high up on top of the globe ! Sailing the Seas on the top of the world knowing that a vast majority of life on land and sea is down under is definitely a unique experience . Being a part of life even if for a few days  as it is lived in the North of the world leaves an impression deep inside . Our Sail & Explore cutomised WanderTrip takes you on a vacation that is a unique mix designed by us to experience Pristine Nature and Archepelagos of  Scandinavia discovering Sweden and Finland , a medieval old town in Tallinn Estonia and get charmed with the beauty and grandeur of St Petersburg Russia .

Stockholm – Sweden

What better place to start than the capital of Scandinavia , Stockholm is among one of the most beautiful capitals of the world. The  capital of Sweden is built over 14 islands over Lake Malaren  facing the Baltic Sea on the east . The 700 year old history of the Swedes is best seen in the oldest part of the town Gamla Stan . Walk down the historic cobbled streets and be a part of this melting pot of historical 17th century buildings  , stunning views , cafes and upscale Swedish Design stores . Stockholm is a city of art , culture and museums ,it has  the world’s longest Art Gallery and its stations in the subway are decorated with art , paintings , sculptures and mosaics.

Helsinki - Finland

Enjoy the twilight reflecting in the Baltic sea and Gulf of Finland as you sail from one Scandinavian capital to another – Helsinki .  Helsinki is  strategically located between Stockholm in the west , St Petersburg Russia  in the East and Tallinn Estonia in the South East . A Nordic city with an interesting mix of Swedish & Russian History , Helsinki can be explored on foot or bike starting from its main square The Senate Square one could walk to the Mannerheimintie and to the main shopping streets of Espa and Aleksi . Standing at the edge of any point on the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress looking at the big ferries pass by , one can only reflect at  history this Sea Fortress , the biggest of its kind in the world is reminiscent of . As a special  recommendation from us at WanderTrips we will tell you where to go for a  drink at the highest bar in Helsinki with a 360 degrees view !

Tallinn – Estonia

Where do we Sail next ?  The Medieval town of Tallinn in Estonia ! The Old Town of Tallinn has retained most of its medieval charm over the years and is a UNESCO World Heritage site . As you walk through the gates of the fortified walls of the old town , you walk back into time . The old town has an ambience of Slavic charm with cafes in the middle of the streets served by staff dressed in traditional Estonian clothing . If you happen to be there at a time when its getting colder , you could sit under one of the many cafes and restaurants in the main square on a blanket covered chair and warm yourself with Vana Tallinn a traditional Estonian Liqueur which literally means Old Tallinn ! A visit to the Old Town without having a traditional Estonian meal at Olde Hanse in its medieval ambience would be incomplete .

St. Petersburg – Russia

The final city on our Sail & Explore WanderTrip would be the most Charming city built by Peter the Great , designed by Italian & French Architects and built by German and Dutch engineers . Be amazed by the Grandeur , Charm and Romance  of the largest city in the North of the Globe. The city simply awes one with its vast historical centre housing the Hermitage which is one of the largest art museums in the world , the Saint Issacs Cathedral which is the third largest Cathedral in the world with its 100 kgs pure gold dome and the Peter & Paul Fortress which houses the tombs of a whole dynasty . Cruise on the Neva River or drive to  Peterhof to spend walking the lush green gardens around the magnificent Grand Palace of Peter the Great on the banks of the Gulf of Finland. Spend a romantic night under the blue Midnight skies near the Neva River before setting off back home from this magnificent city often called the City of White Nights .
